Girls

Sifil Sports is proud to be working with the FAW's 'HUDDLE' campaign which aims to promote the participation and progression of the girls game across Wales.

We currently have a number of girls playing within mixed teams (boys & girls), but we really want to drive forward with girls-only teams. This aims to enhance the involvement of girls in football at the club, and help create long-lasting, sustained participation and love for the game.

What is it?

We aim to run a series of weekly football training sessions, which include a mixture of drills and exercises, alongside fun and engaging activities.

The sessions will cater for all abilities, and be facilitated and ran by a mixture of long-standing, and experienced club coaches, together with a group of new and enthusiastic coaches. All are really passionate about progressing the girls game, and want to be involved and learn together along the journey.

All coaches will have minimum DBS requirements and FAW leaders accreditations.

Who is it for?

We want the opportunity for it to be as inclusive as possible; the only criteria is that the participants are female and are aged between 5 and 11yrs. There is no previous experience required, as training sessions will be organised and adapted to suit a range of capabilities. Girls who are currently playing in the Sifil AFC teams can also join the sessions, should they wish.

When is it?

The sessions will run for 8 weeks, starting on Saturday 5th April at 10am. These will take place at Sifil 3G, Shannon Close, Bettws.

What is the aim?

Ideally, we want to see enough girls involved and enjoying it, so that at the end of the 8 week program, they'll want to continue and become part of Sifil AFC. We would ideally like to create new teams, or, players can feed into our existing girls teams (however, we only currently have 2 designate girls teams - both at u10s age)

If you want to know more about the club, then please see the 'About' section of our website

How much is it?

We are asking for a small contribution of £2 per session for attendees (this includes existing Sifil AFC players). The funds raised from the participation in the HUDDLE program will be ring-fenced and designated specifically, to help further the girls' teams going forward.
